The Abbey Theatre was founded in 1903 by W.B Yeats and Lady Augusta Gregory it remains true to its heritage, regularly re-animating plays from the Irish repertoire, as well as presenting classics from European and world theatre and new plays by established writers.
This brand new 2,111 capacity purpose built theatre was designed by world renowned architect Daniel Libeskind and is an outstanding addition to Ireland's Theatre world. The Grand Canal Theatre presents the best of National and International Theatre, Musicals, Drama, Opera, Ballet, Family Shows & Classical Concerts and has the facility to accommodate world class West End and Broadway productions for the first time in Ireland.

As Dublin's longest-established theatre in continuous production, the Gaiety maintains its unrivalled presence as the city's premier venue for popular musical shows, opera, ballet, dance and drama.
Located in the cultural and social heart of the city the Gate Theatre has been, both artistically and architecturally, a landmark building in Dublin for over two hundred years. It was established as a theatre in 1928 by Hilton Edwards and Micheál MacLiammóir. Under their guidance, the Gate offered Dublin audiences a first introduction to the world of European and American avant garde theatre as well as vibrant productions from the modern and classic Irish repertoire.
It was at the Gate that such luminaries as Orson Welles and James Mason began their prodigious acting careers. Today the theatre continues to attract the finest of creative talent and offers a stimulating and inclusive programme, appealing to theatre goers of all generations and from a broad spectrum of the population. The theatre is unique in that it has had only two artistic directorates in the last 75 years.
There is a thriving music scene in Dublin with The O2 Arena, RDS, Croke Park and Slane Castle hosting major artists every year. Smaller venues in Dublin also host international and domestic acts throughout the year including the Olympia Theatre, Vicar St, The Academy, the Button Factory to name but a few.
